Patient Details

This is a 31 year old man who is 5’10” and 205 pounds who was interested in treatment for gynecomastia as well a body contouring with liposuction. He has a history of 20 pound weight loss. He had previous Zerona treatment for his fat but he didn’t really see results. He is seen here after gynecomastia surgery involving chest and body contouring with liposuction and glandular tissue removal on his chest through a small incision at the bottom of his areola. You can see that there is a big improvement in his situation overall. His weight is the same (I’m not happy with this). He looks far more muscular and “buffed” sort to speak. He is really happy with his results. Lessons to learn:

  • Non-surgical treatment for lipodystrophy really doesn’t do much of anything. You can waste your money and not see much of an improvement.
  • He has been working out obviously. This is how you will get the muscular look. “Etching” or “Sculpting” the fat to get the appearance of working out doesn’t work and you run the risk of a really weird result. don’t look for this or ask for this or you will end up an unhappy camper.
  • Liposuction of the chest alone in the treatment of gynecomastia or chest fullness will certainly make an improvement, BUT, the problem is that the fibrous tissues that remain, or glandular tissue, will reveal itself behind the areolas after the swelling is gone which will result in puffy nipples or dissatisfaction.
  • Liposuction is not for weight loss. If you are overweight and you have gynecomastia, treat your gynecomastia but do not undergo liposuction. LOSE THE WEIGHT.
