Patient Details

This is yet another advanced gynecomastia case for your review. It is advanced because his size is quite large and his skin quality is fair at best. He is now 10 months out from treatment and you can appreciate a big change for the better with some imperfection of his left nipple-areola complex where he likely had some superficial skin compromise that resulted in hyperpigmentation due to the inflammation and his natural skin color. He is extremely happy, particularly when shown his pre operative photos to remind him what once was. There are scars on his left chest from previous surgery for a lung bleb. This may have contributed to his skin compromise on his left side. He told me he much prefers this result to a skin removal treatment with scars across his chest. It’s important to have realistic expectations when dealing with advanced gynecomastia so the patient owns the result fully and reaches their fullest potential physically and mentally. I thanked him for allowing me to use his case for educational purposes. We all need to help each other.
