Patient Details

This is a 26 year old male, 5’8″ and 155 who presented to me for treatment of gynecomastia. To say the least, he isn’t happy with the appearance of his chest. It bothers him as a 11 out of 10. It’s bad, it’s really bad.He is here after my “standard” gynecomastia treatment surgery. This consists of liposuction and a small incision at the bottom of the areola to remove the tissue that you can see in the photograph. I removed 250cc of fat total and about 30 grams of tissue on each side. He is seen her only five weeks from his procedure. Now the interesting part. When my nurse evaluated him in the office she came back to me and reported that he thinks he still has some tissue on one side. No mention whatsoever of any degree of satisfaction from this procedure. I walk in the room, take one look at his chest and OMG! Huge difference and what a remarkable transformation. “Are you happy? Do you see the difference?”“Heck yeah, it has changed my life”. Why is it that my gynecomastia patients have such a hard time expressing their elation with their results and the positive impact that it has on them? Why do I have to be the head cheerleader in bringing out these emotions? No matter. In the end, it’s all good. He is going to lose weight and get into shape and he can’t wait to return in six months for his photos to show me the results of his efforts. Best of all, he wanted one last word with me before he left. What I got was a genuine heartfelt hug. It made my day. This is why I founded the AGC.
