Exceptional Care & Results
Discover exceptional care and excellent results at the Austin Gynecomastia Center with Austin plastic surgeon Dr. Robert Caridi. As an internationally recognized plastic surgeon, Dr. Caridi is a leader and educator of gynecomastia surgery and performs more than 400 times a year.
An average male chest has minimal tissue between the nipple-areola complex and the underlying pectoral muscle.
The accumulation of excess tissue makes the chest appear round and female-like. The nipple-areola complex usually is small and flat—it’s not puffy and dome-shaped. Slowly but surely, you start to focus on your chest, noticing that things are not typical. Shirts start to reveal breast-like outlines.
If your friends make fun of your chest, you likely have gynecomastia. You may eventually feel the tissue beneath your nipples and may even have some tenderness. In order to hide the appearance of your chest, you shrug your shoulders and bend your back which causes very poor posture. Almost without exception, if you think you have gynecomastia, you most certainly do.
At AGC, our center takes excellent care of you from consultation to aftercare.
Our staff of professionals understands the unique nature of the condition, and they know how to make you feel comfortable and at home. You will see that you are in great hands. Dr. Caridi will cover anesthesia and other aspects of your procedure during your consultation. Typically, gynecomastia surgery is performed under general anesthesia. However, depending on the details of your surgical plan, gynecomastia surgery can sometimes be performed under local anesthesia.
Most patients find that their Gynecomastia surgery is a relatively easy recovery. Most patients return to work or other regular activities within one to two days, and discomfort is minimal. Most pain is managed with over-the-counter pain medication, such as Tylenol. See full gynecomastia recovery instructions here or watch this video to know what to expect.
Dr. Caridi offers the skill and experience to provide patients with the most natural and attractive results achievable while addressing every aspect of their gynecomastia. In most cases, scarring is very minimal and often undetectable over time. However, in more severe cases that require the removal of excess skin, there may be some visible scarring.
